What is meant by the words health and fitness?
Generally speaking, health means a “soundness of body or mind.” Fitness can mean the “capability of the body of distributing oxygen to muscle tissue during increased physical effort.”    The short version is that good health includes a strong and clean cardiovascular system, reasonable levels of cholesterol and proper nutrition habits.   Bad health means a weak and clogged cardiovascular system, high cholesterol levels and poor nutrition.   Fitness is measured by one’s ability to respond to the rigors of a daily routine and the occasional extra effort.   If a body can’t handle its tasks, its fitness level is low. 
There is no single formula for good health and fitness.   You can’t prove it like a math formula because there are too many variables.   There are muscle mass differences between men and women as well as the obvious structural ones.   Aging men lose testosterone, which makes it harder for them to build muscle to compete with younger men.   Menopausal women become more susceptible to cardiovascular disease than younger women.   Good health and fitness has general guidelines, but it’s very specific to an individual.    Be sure to consult your healthcare professional so that you are aware of your needs and limitations.
How does one gain good health and fitness?
We live in an industrialized world that forces us to work in specialized jobs at a relentless pace.  Our modern environment takes a terrible toll on our bodies and minds.  We rush from place to place to work, eat and shop.  Bad choices get made because we often settle for quick and easy.  We eat way too much fast food or processed food and are usually too tired to exercise.  Good health and fitness is the product of planning and work, just like most things we want.  Wanting to be healthy and fit is necessary for it to happen but time management is the key to getting it done.  Our minds are very efficient and without clear instructions on what new actions need to taken, they simply keep doing what they have been doing.  That leaves you struggling with the same health and fitness issues and doing nothing about it.  On the other hand, if you can train yourself into doing a new, healthy routine for about 3 weeks, your mind starts to expect to do it.  A little time management now will make the transition possible.
